This page summarizes how you may use ZJX Basic and the paid editions sold on zjx.app. The ZJX 1.29 command-line engine is licensed separately, under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. The ZJX License Agreement is the binding version; where they differ, the agreement wins.

ZJX Basic

ZJX Basic is free for personal use, for accredited schools and nonprofits, and for businesses with under USD 100,000 in consolidated annual revenue.

Organizations with USD 100,000 or more in annual revenue, and government bodies, need a commercial license such as Mythic or Legend to create archives. Opening archives is free for everyone.

Opening archives is always free

Anyone may open, list and test .zjx archives with ZJX Basic, including archives made with a paid edition, whatever their organization.

Paid editions

Pro, Ultra and Mythic licenses are one-time purchases. They don't expire and include every future update to the edition you bought. Mythic is licensed per seat. Legend terms are agreed in writing. Each paid edition is its own signed download, made for its buyer.

Your archives and sharing

You own the archives you make. ZJX claims no rights over your files.

You may share authentic, unmodified ZJX Basic packages with their notices intact.
